Allied forces commemorate 80th anniversary of D-Day invasion

Eighty years ago today, on June 6, 1944, Allied troops under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower launched the largest seaborne invasion in history on the beaches of Normandy, France. D-Day is a time to remember the sacrifices made by those who participated in this mission which liberated Western Europe and saved the world.
