July is National Grilling Month. This month, people are encouraged to get outside and fire up the grill to celebrate. It is important to remember safe grilling practices while enjoying this activity. The State Fire Marshal has provided some tips for staying safe around the grill.

"Make sure your grill is at least 10 feet away from your house or any structures," advised the State Fire Marshal. "Never leave your grill unattended, and always have a fire extinguisher nearby."

Grilling enthusiasts are reminded to check their equipment before use and ensure proper maintenance throughout the season.
