City of Moline Traffic Engineering Committee will meet Aug. 6.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

3. Approval of minutes of the Traffic Engineering Committee meeting of July 2, 2024.

4. Citizen requests no parking on 31st Avenue, north side, between 15th Street C and 16th Street.

Explanation: Citizen lives on 15th Street C and states when turning east onto 31st Ave he has difficulty getting through due to the amount of room and high traffic flow coming off of 16th Street. There is currently no parking on the south side.

5. Citizen request to lower speed limit on 15th Street C, south of 31st Avenue, due to speeding vehicles and/or add a three-way stop at the half alley between 3141 and 3203 15th Street C.

Explanation: Citizen states there are several speeding vehicles on a daily basis. He is requesting either a lower speed limit and/or a three-way stop to slow the traffic down.

Any person with disabilities who wishes to attend the meeting who requires a special accommodation, or any other person requiring a special accommodation in attending the meeting, should notify the City Engineer’s Office, 524-2350, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting time.

6. Citizen request for all way stop at intersection of 21st Avenue and 15th Street.

Explanation: Matt Russell has provided crash history. Zero crashes in 2021, 2023, and 2024. One crash in 2022 (see attached police report).

7. Sanitation is requesting no parking on 6th Avenue at 53rd Street Drive, for a distance of 60 feet.

Explanation: Sanitation crew is having difficulty turning onto 53rd Street Drive when vehicles are parked on 6th Avenue.

8. Resident that lives on 45th Street is requesting a “no parking here to corner” at intersection of 45th Street and 26th Avenue.

Explanation: Resident states vehicles park up to the stop sign making it difficult to turn onto 26th Avenue from 45th Street when other vehicles are turning onto 45th Street. States there is not enough room for two vehicles.
