Rock Island Today, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage of local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for records pertaining to the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections.
The request specifically seeks an electronic list of candidates running in the election. The requested details include each candidate's name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are seeking.
