The Special City Council of the City of Geneseo was called to order on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present:
COUNCIL PRESENT: Council Bob James, Council Brett Barnhart, Council Craig Arnold, Mayor Sean Johnson, Council Martin Rothschild, Council Paula Simosky, Council Keith Kennett, Alderman Kent Swanson, and Alderman James Roodhouse
COUNCIL ABSENT:
STAFF PRESENT: Director of Finance Jamie Matthews, City Administrator Brandon Maeglin, Director of IT Garrett Griswold, Deputy Chief of Police Kondon Karzin, Chief of Police Casey Disterhoft, Attorney Margaret Kostopulos, Director of Public Works Chad VandeWoestyne, Building Inspector Rick Mills, Director of Electrical Operations Eric Rowold, and City Clerk Paige Seibel

Alderman Kennett is absent due to reasons related to his employment and has requested to be permitted to participate via phone.
Mayor Johnson: I will entertain this motion to permit such participation
Arnold motioned; Swanson seconded to permit Kennett to participate.

2 Public Comment - Agenda Items
City Ordinance allows members of the Public to speak and give input up to 3 minutes during Public Comment, there can be no debate or action by the City Council at this time.

3 Administration
3.1. O-25-01: Farm Lease Agreement for 11 Acres at the Renewable Energy Site
Tim Gould was the sole individual to submit an offer for the 11-acre farm lease and renewable energy site. He plans to start by using the land for a soy bean field and later transition to growing alfalfa for the remainder of the lease term.
Craig Arnold moved, seconded by Brett Barnhart, Motion to approve O-25- 01.
(This will motion will need a 3/4 vote by the corporate authorities)
