City of Aledo City Council met March 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Aledo met in Regular Session in the Council Chambers at the Aledo City Hall building on March 17, 2025. MAYOR HAGLOCH called the meeting to order at 6:40 P.M. The roll was called, whereupon the following answered present:

Aldermen BARRY COOPER, DENNIS DIXON, JAY DOHERTY, CARMEN RUH, LINDA SARABASA, and ANDREW WEEKS. Mayor CHRISTOPHER HAGLOCH. Alderman MARK FRIESE was excused.

Also present was TREVOR FISK, Interim Chief of Police, JUSTIN BLASER, Director of Public Works & Utilities, LINDSEY DUNN, Aledo Main Street, and JAROD DALE, City Clerk.

The media was represented by Jim Taylor, WRMJ.

REGULAR COUNCIL SESSION

Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag,

CONSENT AGENDA

MAYOR Hagloch noted Item F - Approval of a Street Closure / Street Dance Event – Saucy’s Bar to be held on Friday, June 06, 2025 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. to be taken off the Consent Agenda for approval.

Motion was made by ALDERMAN DIXON and seconded by ALDERMAN SARABASA to approve the following consent agenda items:

• Approval of Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 03, 2025. • Approval of Finance: Invoice Listing – AP05.

• Approval of City Sponsorship for Mercer County Agricultural Society for the 2025 Mercer County Fair and July Utility Bill in an amount not to exceed $3,000.00. • Approval of City Sponsorship for Mercer County Family Crisis Center in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00.

• Approval a Special Race / Walk Event – Champions 4 Children event to be held on May 03, 2025.

• Approval of the Hiring of Dawn Morrison as the Police Chief’s Administrative Assistant in the Aledo Police Department effective April 1, 2025.

• Approval of Sidewalk and Curb Repair at the 100 block of SE 2nd Avenue by Estes Construction in an amount of $11,914.00.

A Roll Call vote was recorded as follows:

YES: Cooper, Dixon, Doherty, Ruh, Sarabasa, and Weeks. NO: None. Motion carried. 6 yeas, 0 nays.

Motion was made by ALD. COOPER and seconded by ALD. WEEKS to table Item F until further information is received back from Adam & Kristie Soseman, Saucy’s Bar for the special event application. A Roll call vote was recorded as follows:

YEAS: Dixon, Doherty, Ruh, Sarabasa, Weeks, and Cooper. NO: None. Motion carried. 6 yeas, 0 nays.

PUBLIC COMMENT: No Report.

ACTION ITEMS: No Report.

OLD BUSINESS: ALD. Sarabasa inquired on the Central Park market plaza opening. MAYOR Hagloch reported a ribbon cutting is being scheduled for April 24th at 1:00 p.m. Details are still being finalized but will provide more information at a later date.

NEW BUSINESS: No Report.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, motion was made by ALDERMAN WEEKS and seconded by ALDERMAN SARABASA that the meeting be adjourned. A Unanimous voice vote followed in agreement. Meeting was adjourned at 6:44 P.M.
