City of Moline Traffic Engineering Committee met June 10.
Here is the agenda provided by the committee:
1. Call to Order – Laura Klauer

3. Approval of minutes of the Traffic Engineering Committee meeting of May 6, 2025.
4. Request to add “No Parking here to corner” on the south side of 35th Avenue, west of the 35th Street intersection.
Explanation: Request does not include a certain distance. Complaint states poor visibility due to numerous parked cars close to the intersection. This item was tabled at the May meeting due to needing crash history report. Matt Russell has provided that information since and states there have been no crashes at/near the intersection of 35th St/35th Ave, from January 2021 to present.
5. Request for stop sign modification at the intersection of 27th Avenue and 31st Street.
Explanation: Request was sent to Alder Finch from a resident near this intersection. This is a 3-way intersection with east bound traffic only having a stop sign. Resident is requesting the stop sign be removed for east bound traffic and a stop sign be added for south bound traffic only.
6. Resident that lives on 9th Street, between 4th Avenue & Railroad Avenue, is requesting the “no parking here to corner” sign on northeast side of the street be moved further north.
Explanation: At the May 7, 2024 TEC meeting, a motion was passed to extend the “no parking here to corner” further south at the request of a business owner on the west side of the street whom stated trucks/trailers were having difficulty accessing the garage when vehicles were parked adjacent from driveway.
A resident is now requesting the sign be moved back further north. States the businesses are using all of the on-street parking, leaving no spaces for residential parking.
7. Resident from resident for speed control on 19th Street, 7th Avenue to Avenue of the Cities.
Explanation: Received a completed “Request for Traffic Control Investigation/Improvement” form and letter from resident with concerns of speeding on 19th Street, 7th Avenue to Avenue of the Cities.
