City of Aledo City Council met June 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

REGULAR COUNCIL SESSION

The City Council of the City of Aledo met in Regular Session in the Council Chambers at the Aledo City Hall building on June 16, 2025. MAYOR HAGLOCH called the meeting to order at 6:38 P.M. The roll was called, whereupon the following answered present:

Aldermen BARRY COOPER, DENNIS DIXON, MARK FRIESE, MARIO PAULEY, CARMEN RUH, LINDA SARABASA, JASON SNYDER, and ANDREW WEEKS. Mayor CHRISTOPHER HAGLOCH.

Also present was MICHAEL CHAUSSE, City Administrator, TREVOR FISK, Interim Chief of Police, and LAURIE WOOD, Deputy Clerk.

The media was represented by Ty Taylor, WRMJ.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag lead by CHIEF Fisk,

CONSENT AGENDA

Motion was made by ALDERMAN DIXON and seconded by ALDERMAN FRIESE to approve the following consent agenda items:

• Approval of Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 02, 2025.

• Approval of Finance: Invoice Listing – AP11.

• Approval of the Appointment of Adam L. Baker as Chief of Police for the Aledo Police Department effective June 28, 2025.

• Approval of the Acceptance with Regret the Resignation of Trevor Fisk as Interim Chief of Police for the Aledo Police Department effective June 28, 2025.

A Roll Call vote was recorded as follows:

YES: Cooper, Dixon, Friese, Pauley, Ruh, Sarabasa, Snyder, Weeks, and Hagloch. NO: None. Motion carried. 9 yeas, 0 nays.

(Clerks Note: Mayor Hagloch voted in the affirmative to show his support of the retiring of Chief Fisk and the hiring of LT. Baker as the new Aledo Chief of Police.)

PUBLIC COMMENT: No Report.

ACTION ITEMS:

RESOLUTION NO. 25R, SERIES OF 2025; A RESOLUTION CLARIFYING RETENTION AND SIGNING BONUSES FOR POLICE OFFICERS:

Finance Director, Marisa Barrett was recently preparing forms needed for police officer bonuses after the action and approval of Resolution No. 14R, Series of 2024 passed by Council in May of 2024. There was one item that is missing in the resolution, but in the council memorandum, concerning a retention bonus of $5,000 on each 5-year anniversary of the officer’s hire. This was originally listed under Item two of the memorandum for Bonuses for Police Officers on staff as of May 1, 2024. This new resolution adds the missing clause.

Motion was made by ALDERMAN DIXON and seconded by ALDERMAN RUH to approve Resolution No. 25R, Series of 2025; a Resolution clarifying Retention and Signing Bonuses for Police Officers. A Roll call vote was recorded as follows:

YES: Dixon, Friese, Pauley, Ruh, Sarabasa, Snyder, Weeks, and Cooper. NO: None. Motion carried. 8 yeas, 0 nays.

OLD BUSINESS: No Report.

NEW BUSINESS: No Report.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, motion was made by ALDERMAN SARABASA and seconded by ALDERMAN WEEKS that the meeting be adjourned. A Unanimous voice vote followed in agreement. Meeting was adjourned at 6:43 P.M.
