City of Moline Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Sept. 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

PRESENT

COMMISSIONERS: Jeff Nelson

Tilford Flowers

STAFF: Darren Gault, Chief of Police

Steve Ven Huizen, Deputy Chief

Jeremy Weeks, Lieutenant

Leah Madsen, Director of Human Resources

Meeting Called to Order

Commissioner Nelson called the meeting to order at 8:12 a.m.

Roll Call of Members

Roll call performed. Commissioners Nelson and Flowers present. Commissioner Dahlstrom was absent.

Approval of Minutes

None.

Communications

None.

New Business

Certification of the Firefighter/Paramedic Eligibility Register (Leah Madsen, Director of Human Resources) The Firefighter/Paramedic Eligibility Register has been compiled based on the results of the most recent recruitment testing. Staff recommended certifying the Firefighter/Paramedic Eligibility Register as presented. Commissioner Nelson made a motion to certify the register as recommended, seconded by Commissioner Flowers. The motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Commissioner Nelson and Commissioner Flowers; Nays: None.

Certification of the Police Sergeant Eligibility Register (Leah Madsen, Director of Human Resources) The Police Sergeant Eligibility Register has been compiled based on the results of the most recent recruitment testing. Staff recommended certifying the Police Sergeant Eligibility Register as presented. Commissioner Flowers made a motion to certify the register as recommended, seconded by Commissioner Nelson. The motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Commissioners Nelson and Commissioner Flowers; Nays: None.

Executive Session

Commissioner Flowers moved to adjourn into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Nelson and carried on a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Commissioner Nelson and Commissioner Flowers; Nays: none.

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened in Executive Session at 8:15 a.m.

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners reconvened in Open Session at 2:18 p.m.

Action from Executive Session

None.

Public Comment

None.

Adjournment

Commissioner Flowers moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Nelson and unanimously carried. The meeting adjourned at 2:18 p.m.
