State Representative Dan Swanson (R-Alpha) welcomed Max and Sully Weaver to the Illinois House of Representatives chamber on Tuesday, where the brothers served as House pages for the day.

“Max and Sully are two outstanding students with bright futures ahead of them,” Swanson said. “I am glad to welcome them here to the State Capitol.”

The Weaver brothers are students at Creative Christian Homeschool, with Sully in 7th grade and Max in 11th grade. They are the sons of Chris and Andrea Weaver. Both participate in Bible study, bicycle maintenance repair, writing letters to pen-pals, taking part in tours with the Prairieland Conservancy Group, and joining education programs at the Lakeview Nature Center. They also took part in a World War II live history exhibit hosted by Western Illinois University.

Sully is involved in club-level chess, horticulture, Spanish language studies, culinary arts, pre-algebra, and public library reading programs. Max participates in computer science activities, robotics, Japanese history and culture studies, and distance running. He is a professional-level computer programmer engaged in a CSS contest focused on redesigning website appearance and behavior.

During their visit to Springfield, Max and Sully met members of the General Assembly, toured the Capitol building, and observed proceedings in the House of Representatives.

Swanson was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 71st House District in 2023, succeeding Donald L. Moffitt.
