The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) has opened the application period for its Fiscal Year 2026 Law Enforcement Camera Grant. The initiative aims to provide police agencies in Illinois with funding for essential video technology.

ILETSB is allocating over $56 million in state funds to help law enforcement agencies acquire equipment, training, and resources needed for evidence collection. According to the announcement, eligible uses of grant funds include officer-worn body cameras, in-car cameras for police vehicles, data storage solutions and program licensing, as well as training for law enforcement personnel.

Grant awards are available up to $3 million per applicant. Agencies can use the funding through various options such as reimbursements, advance payments, or working capital advances. The program also allows costs incurred from July 1, 2025 onward to be covered retroactively.

Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, December 31 at 5 p.m., through the AmpliFund portal. Agencies are advised to review all requirements outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity documents before applying.

Anderson, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 2023 to represent the state's 47th Senate District, replacing previous state senator Jil Tracy.
