COMMUNICATIONS

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Pursuant to Section 2.06, 5ILCS 120/2 (c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act: The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Acceptance of the 2026 Board of Fire and Police Commission Meeting Schedule (Amy Jackson, Recording Secretary)

Explanation: Each year, the City of Moline’s Council Board/Committee Meeting Schedule requires City Council approval. The deadline to submit the 2026 meeting schedule for the Board of Fire and Police Commission is approaching. The proposed schedule retains the regular meeting time, which is the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends acceptance of the 2026 schedule as presented

2. Approval of Regular, Full-Time Promotional Appointment (Darren Gault, Chief of Police) Explanation: Sergeant Adam Lorenz will complete his promotional probationary period effective December 1, 2025.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the Regular, Full-Time Promotional Appointment of Sergeant Lorenz, effective December 1, 2025, pending no concerns develop between today’s date and December 1, 2025.

3. Approval of Regular, Full-Time Promotional Appointment (Darren Gault, Chief of Police) Explanation: Sergeant Joseph Ward will complete his promotional probationary period effective December 15, 2025.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the Regular, Full-Time Promotional Appointment of Sergeant Ward, effective December 15, 2025, pending no concerns develop between today’s date and December 15, 2025.

4. Removal of Candidate from the Police Officer Eligibility Register (Darren Gault, Chief of Police) Explanation: Alexander Adame, the number three candidate on the Police Officer Eligibility Register certified on October 14, 2025, has been contacted multiple times regarding continuation in the hiring process, but has been non-responsive to all communication attempts.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends the removal of Alexander Adame from the Police Officer Eligibility Register due to non-responsiveness.

5. Approval of Regular, Full-time Appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic (Steve Regenwether, Fire Chief) Explanation: Zach Blankenship will complete his probationary period as a Firefighter/Paramedic, effective December 9, 2025.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the Regular, Full-Time Appointment of Firefighter/Paramedic Zach Blankenship, effective December 9, 2025, pending no concerns that may develop between today’s date and December 9, 2025.

OTHER BUSINESS

PUBLIC COMMENT

Members of the public are permitted to speak after standing and stating their names. Public comment will be limited to three (3) minutes per person, per subject. The Commission is not required to respond to public comments.

Comments may also be emailed by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting to the Recording Secretary at ajackson@moline.il.us. Please type "Public Comment" in the subject line. These comments will be read at the meeting.
