The city of Rock Island announced its list of winter recreational activities Friday.
Programs include a series of world dance classes at the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center every Thursday from Feb. 18 through March 24 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The classes will cover traditional dances from Greece, India, Ireland, Mexico, Romania and Rwanda. The series costs $42 and pre-registration is required. No partner is necessary.
RIFA will also offer a class on aromatherapy for better sleep and pain relief March 3 from 5:45-7:45 p.m. Class registration costs $30 and includes a take-home sleep sachet.
Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, RIFA will also offer a Saint Paddy's Day Wall Basket workshop March 7 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Registration costs $17. Materials for the class can be purchased at the class for $25.
Residents are also invited to sample craft beer while they paint a spring landscape at the Painting and Beer Social, held March 9 at Bent River Brewing Company. Class runs from 6-9 p.m. The $45 registration fee covers materials and two drinks.
