The Moline Parks and Recreation board plans to vote on foot bridge repairs and new playground equipment at its meeting Thursday.
The Moline Park and Recreation board will vote on funding repairs to the 33rd Street Bridge at the Public Works Department meeting Thursday.
The board will consider requesting $12,000 to $19,000 for welding work on the bridge's connections. The bridge has been closed to car traffic since October.
The bridge funding will come from a $37,500 budget item. Once the board approves the expenses for bridge repairs, the board will deduct that amount from the budget item and potentially spend the remainder on new playground equipment for Millennium Park. A motion authorizing that course of action will also be on Thursday's agenda.
The board will also vote on a request from Friends of Riverside to place a memorial stone for exotic evergreen enthusiast Justin "Chub" Harper, near Harper's donated plantings in Riverside Park.
The meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
The Moline Public Works Department is located at 3635 Fourth Ave.
