The Moline City Council will vote on a five year lease agreement with Verizon Tuesday at Moline City Hall at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.
If passed, the agreement would allow Verizon to build telecommunications equipment on the city's water tower at 1531 17th Ave. for a fee of $14,400/year for the first year, plus an additional 3 percent each additional year.
City officials said the city will use the revenue generated from the lease to add to the city's water fund.
The council will also vote on a $747,000 contract with Leander Construction Inc. for improvements to the South Slope Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The council will also vote on a number of amendments to city code that would allow right turn only intersections. Current city code allows for left-only intersections, but does not allow for right-only intersections as well.
Moline City Hall is located at 619 16th St.
