The first Quad Cities Live Month will launch this April.

The first Quad Cities Live Month will launch this April.

The Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Thursday that Quad Cities Live Month is set to begin on April 1.

Throughout the month of April, the Quad Cities area will be featuring multiple live performances that include plays and ballets, several concerts that will include multiple genres, bands and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. There will also be several live comedy acts and other events that are planned in April.

The Quad Cities Live website lists approximately 90 events that are scheduled to take place at venues throughout Rock Island, Davenport, Moline and East Moline.

The following musical artists and groups will be performing in April: Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience, the Manny Lopez Band and Toby Mac. In addition to these performances the symphony will be performing “Masterworks VI: The Resurrection” and will performing music as a part of the Magical Music of Disney to be accompanied by animation on a large screen.

Plays that will be held include “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” “The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged)” and the premiere of “Uncle” written by Lee Blessing.

“Don’t miss the amazing performances going on during the First Annual Quad Cities Live Month,” Charlotte Doehler-Morrison, vice president of marketing and communications for the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, said. “Enjoy music, theatre, dance, comedy and more -- the choices are abundant and well worth your time.”
