The city of Rock Island recently announced the start of its library early learning programs for children under five.
The platform is currently in its second week of offering “Toddler Tales” weekly story times. Parents of children five and under can bring their toddlers to the event on Tuesdays at the 30/31 branch; Wednesdays at the Southwest Branch; and Fridays at the Main Library throughout the month.
Each event features several stories falling under a central theme, music, movement and craft. For January, themes change by the week. “Best Books of 2016” will be followed by “Beach and Ocean Stories,” “Whimsical works of children’s author Jan Thomas” and “Snowy Winter Stories.”
These events are free to the public and do not require registration.
