Nichole Finnie, a lifelong resident of South Rock Island Township who capped her local civic career with her 2016 appointment as the township's assessor, anticipates continuing to serve the community as she campaigns for a second term.
"I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life at South Rock Island Township,” Finnie said when first selected for her current position last year, according to the South Rock Island Township Republicans. She is currently up for re-election with fellow GOP candidates on the township Republicans’ slate.
Finnie began working for the township in 2004 following her graduation from Rock Island High School, the local GOP group said on its Facebook post. She advanced her skills to include property assessment at a state-sponsored program, earning certification as an Illinois assessment officer in 2006 and pursuing additional continuing education through the Illinois Property Assessment Institution, according to the township government’s website.
Promoted to deputy assessor in 2011, Finnie then advanced to the position of the township’s chief deputy assessor in 2012. Bringing a strong work ethic and passion for serving the citizens of South Rock Island Township, she emphasizes fairness, hard work and responsibility, the local GOP group said.
“Nichole takes her assessor position very seriously and is diligent and accountable to all residents of South Rock Island Township,” the Republican organization said on Facebook. “With an experienced staff to support her, Nichole is committed to providing her township with service that is not only fair, but in the best interest of you, a valued resident of South Rock Island Township.”
