Moline officials have announced that the city’s official trick-or-treat hours will take place on Friday, October 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
To help ensure a safe Halloween, the city has issued several safety reminders for both trick-or-treaters and residents. Children are encouraged to walk on sidewalks and use corners or crosswalks when crossing streets. Carrying a flashlight or glow sticks is recommended so drivers can see them more easily. Parents and guardians should check candy before it is eaten, and costumes should fit properly to avoid trips and falls.
Residents who plan to hand out treats are asked to turn on their porch lights as a signal for participating in trick-or-treating. Drivers are reminded to slow down and stay alert for children during the event.
"Have fun and stay safe while you’re out and about this Halloween!"
