Cambridge High School student Brockton Reed became an honorary House page on May 10 thanks to his host, state Rep. Dan Swanson (R-Alpha), according to a press release.
Reed is a 2017-18 Illinois state scholar. Active in football, basketball and track and field, he earned Academic All-Conference honors from 2013 to 2017 and was awarded the Quad-Cities Times' Salute to Academics Leadership Award. He also won varsity letters from 2013-2017 and was named Track & Field Most Varsity Points/Most Versatile in 2015. He took first place in the FFA Section 3 Interview
Reed is also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Leadership Ethics Value (LEV), the National Honor Society, Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), 4-H, Spanish Club, Robotics Club and the Scholastic Bowl. He is a junior volunteer at Hammond-Henry Hospital.
“I am honored to host this exceptional young man as an honorary page in the Illinois House,” Swanson said in the release. “Brockton has been active in school, church, and community activities. He is a bright young man with a bright future ahead.”
