Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals met March 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Board Members Present: Chairman Fuhr, Mr. Van Daele, Ms. Parrish, Mr. Coyne, and Mr. DeLoose

Staff Present: Gregory Thorpe

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m.

A motion was made to approve the December 7, 2016 minutes as amended. The motion was made by Mr. Coyne, and seconded by Mr. DeLoose. A voice vote was taken, motion carried.

Case: RZ-17-105 Rezoning:

Keven Floming-

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of the Keven Floming to consider a rezoning from B-1 Neighborhood Business District, to an R- 1 Single Family Dwelling District. There were no objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. Van Daele and seconded by Ms. Parrish. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Ms. Parrish – Yes; Mr. Coyne – Yes; Mr. DeLoose – Yes; and Mr. Van Daele– Yes. Motion carried.

Case: VZ-17-002 Variance:

Keven Floming-

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of the Keven Floming to consider a Variance of Section 3-2-8.4.A of the Rock Island County Code of Ordinances in order to construct an accessory structure where the square footage of all the accessory structures will exceed the square footage of the primary structure by 2300 square feet and a 2 foot variance of Section 3-2-8.4.A in order to construct an accessory structure taller than the allowed 15 feet, as allowed in Section 3- 2-6.G.2 There were no objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. DeLoose and seconded by Mr. Coyne. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Ms. Parrish – Yes; Mr. Coyne – Yes; Mr. DeLoose – Yes; and Mr. Van Daele– Yes. Motion carried.

Case: VZ-17-001 Variance:

Wigant Investment Parnership-

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of the Wigant Investment Parnership to consider a Variance of Section 10.5 of the Rock Island County Code of Ordinances in order to retain the existing nonconformity, retaining the AG-1 Agricultural Preservation District without the requisite forty acres. There were no objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. Van Daele and seconded by Ms. Parrish.

The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Ms. Parrish – Yes; Mr. Coyne – Yes; Mr. DeLoose – Yes; and Mr. Van Daele– Yes. Motion carried.

RZ-17-106 Rezoning:

Wigant Investment Parnership-

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of the Wigant Investment Parnership to consider a rezoning from AG-1 Agricultural Preservation District to an R-1 Single Family Dwelling Unit District. There were no objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. Van Daele and seconded by Mr. Coyne. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Ms. Parrish – Yes; Mr. Coyne – Yes; Mr. DeLoose – Yes; and Mr. Van Daele– Yes. Motion carried.

The following Finding of Facts from November 2, 2016 were approved with a motion by Mr. De Loose and second by Mr. Coyne. A voice vote was taken, motion carried.

The motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Van Daele and second by Mr. Coyne. A voice vote was taken, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7: 23 p.m.
