City of Silvis City Ordinance met June 19.
Here is the minutes as provided by the council:
Chairman Pavellonis called the meeting to order at 5:30pm and noted a quorum was present. There is one agenda item for consideration.
The pay for the Deputy City Clerk was approved by finance committee Friday June 16". The Deputy Clerk wage would be $3,600 per year plus $15/hour for time that she is in the office. Also noted in the ordinance is that if the Deputy City Clerk is an employee of the city the wages do not apply. However, if an employee was assigned as Deputy Clerk; the individual would be paid their hourly rate beyond their regular working schedule at time and one half rates. Training will be October 8-13 this year for the currently assigned Deputy Clerk. Clerk Nelson explained the duties of the Deputy City Clerk position. Alderman York noted the position should not exceed 600 hours per year. The ordinance would be reworked with the above noted exceptions.
There were no other agenda items and the meeting was adjourned at 5:51pm.
