City of Silvis City Council met July 18.
Here is the minutes provided by the Council:
Mayor Matt Carter called the Public Hearing to order at 6:00pm and asked all in attendance to sign the attendance sheet. Mayor Carter announced that the purpose for the Public Hearing was to inform and discuss the appropriations for the 2017-2018 fiscal year budget with Council and the Citizens of Silvis.
Mayor Matt Carter then turned the meeting over to Finance Committee Chairman Rick Lohse. Alderman Lohse went over each item in the General Corporate Fund and the amount that was
appropriated. Alderman Lohse noted that the total general corporate fund amount appropriated was $5,681,400.00. Alderman Lohse asked for any questions and there were none.
Alderman Lohse went on to list the appropriations for all the individual funds for a total appropriation of $24,405,800.00. Alderman Lohse asked if there were any questions. Alderwoman Kathy Hall had a question regarding the amounts in the Downtown TIF for the Facade and residential rebuilding program. Alderman Lohse answered that there was $60,000 appropriated for Commercial and $35,000 appropriated for residential façade.
There were no other questions.
Mayor Carter adjourned the Public Hearing for the 2017-2018 Appropriations Ordinance at 6:13pm
