Rock Island pastor readies original leadership conference

Auditorium

The Rev. Dwight Ford has been working for four years on the Critical Mass Leadership & Development conference, which he will host from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at Rock Island’s Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center, according to the Dispatch-Argus.

Ford is the pastor at Rock Island's Grace City Live Church and recently won the Chamber of Commerce Quad Citizen Award. His conference, titled “Uncharted: Leading in a New Direction,” will provide a unified exploration of entrepreneurial innovation, political aspiration and moral imagination, he said.

Waterloo, Iowa, Mayor Quentin Hart will speak at the conference, as will Azilla Clark, a social and community development leader from St. Kitts and Nevis. The event will also feature Ford's wife, Kit Evans Ford, a world religions professor, entrepreneur, international peace activist, as well as Ret. Army Col. Burl Randolph Jr. During the conference’s luncheon, attendees will hear from the Rev. Conrad Tillard, the nationally known “hip-hop minister.”
