The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley (BGCMV) gala is the place to be Jan. 27, and it’s for a good cause.
BGCMV will host its third annual fundraiser for the Quad Cities youth clubs at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf, beginning at 6 p.m., according to an announcement.
The year’s event theme is “A Place to Become,” and the evening will include a cocktail hour, dinner, auction and dancing. Tickets cost $100 per a person, and table sponsorships are available at $1,000 for a table of eight or $1,200 for a table of 10, which includes the donor's name on the table and in the official program, the announcement said.
All funds raised will support BGCMV programming.
The evening will also offer guests an inside glimpse inside the organization’s 4 Clubs.
Established in 1994, BGCMV served nearly 700 youth in 2017. The organization has It four different club locations: The Moline Club, Moline Teen Center, Davenport Club and Davenport Teen Center, which opened August in the JB Young Opportunity Center, the announcement said.
Members pay $15 per school year, and children receive transportation from select schools and daily meals and snacks, among other opportunities. Programming and activities at the locations center on five core areas: character and leadership development, arts, sports, fitness and recreation, education and career development, and health and life skills, according to the announcement.
