The Special Board of Education Meeting was held on October 26, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Annawan Unit District No 226 in the Language Arts Room. President John Rosenberry called the meeting to order. On roll call those present were Brian Childs, Cathy Foes, Nancy Goodman, Jerad Heitzler, John Rosenberry, Dwaine Shaw Jr and Ted VanHyfte. Others present were Interim Superintendent Kyle Ganson, Chris Kidd, Amanda Attig, Matt Huber, Gretchen Olson, Alex Coppejans, Dan Hakes, Dawn Heitzler, Brenda Smith, Whitney Walker and Tammy Celus.
Executive Session 5:01 pm- Moved by Goodman and seconded by Foes to go into Executive Session to discuss appointment, employment and compensation of district perSonnel.
Meeting Reconvened-5:25 pm-Moved by Heitzler and seconded by Foes to re-convene.
Hiring High School Principal-Matt Nordstrom-Moved by Foes and seconded by VanHyfte to hire Matt Nordstrom as High School Principal starting November 6, 2017 through June 30, 2018 at a rate of $416.66 per day. Voting Yes were Childs, Foes, Goodman, Heitzler, Rosenberry, Shaw and VanHyfte. Motion Carried 7-0
Adjournment- 5:26 pm- Moved by Childs and seconded by Heitzler to adjourn.
