City of Sterling Municipal Band met February 27.
Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:
I. Call To Order
Chairperson Reyes called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.
Attendance roll call was taken showing:
II. Discussion Of Logistics Of Background Checks
It is planned that at the 3/7/2018 rehearsal the band will fill out the background check consent form and turn it in to Commissioner Boze. Then at the following rehearsal on 3/14/2018 ROE will come to do the fingerprint background checks. They will do the members that are from out of town first, and then local members after that.
The commission also went over and finalized the information sheet that Commissioner Reyes put together.
III. Events Surrounding The 90th Anniversary
The commission discussed the planning sheet that Commissioner Reyes drafted with additions/changes of:
A. Eight groups will provide pre-concert entertainment. The 4th of July and Kids' concerts will not have pre-concert entertainment due to the extra activities surrounding both of those concerts.
B. An ice cream social date is to be set at the March 12, 2018 meeting.
C. A student will write/perform a reflection for the Bi-Centennial of Illinois.
D. Performers may start earlier than the 7:00 suggested time, but must be finished and off the stage at 7:15.
E. The issues of Contract/Agreement and Stipend will be addressed at the March 12, 2018 meeting
