Analysis: Colona pays $2.60 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Colona Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 72.3 percent of the $193,585 the Colona Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.60 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Colona contributed $139,874 to the fund, which saw a $127,826 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $53,711, or 27.7 percent, in 2016.
