Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Village Board Meeting was called to order by Mayor Bruce Peterson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday April 2, 2018

Roll Call / Establishment Of Quorum / Pledge Of Allegiance

Roll Call #1: Present: Trustees Brian Bitler, Patty Lindley, Gerry Meade, Wayne Oney, Dustin Sloan, Wes Wells

Absent: None

Mayor Peterson declared a quorum present

Also Present:G Killinger, RICO Sheriff’s Dept; Eric Sikkema, Public Works

Comments From The Mayor

Mayor Peterson said that the Village policy as to water hookups for those not already connected will be brought to the Board in 2 weeks Gallery (Comments must be limited to 5 minutes per person, 30 minutes per subject.)

Public Information/Finance Committees

1. Village Finance Committee Wayne Oney

No updates

2. Economic Development Wes Wells

a. Baby Blues Fest is set for June 30th

b. Will be undertaking a new event over summer called “Third Thursday”

c. Work will start again on rehab of old Gazebo

3. IRDC Committee Gerry Meade

4. Planning/Zoning Committee Gerry Meade

a. Village Hall roof replacement

1) Not a P & Z project

2) Have advertised for bids in 2 papers and on web site

b. PA system for Board Room

c. Zoning Board of Appeals meeting on 4/11 to consider a re-zoning request

d. Vote on P&Z charter

1) None yet, hope to have for May 7

7. Tug Fest Wes Wells

a. Yearly sponsorship of Tug Fest

Trustee Wells made a motion to approve sponsorship of $3000 to the Great River Tug Fest, seconded by Trustee Lindley

B. Public Works Don Loy/Eric Sikkema

a. Relocation of water main on High Street per IDOT

1) IDOT is planning on replacing the culvert on Route 84

2) Will require a relocation of some sort of our water main

3) How and where and cost is yet to be determined

1. Recycling And Refuse Dustin Sloan

a. Bulk pick-up will be May 5th

2. Water/Sewer Brian Bitler

3. Bldg. & Grounds/Streets & Street Lights Brian Bitler

a. Purchase of rip rap for emergency repair on Rock River St

Trustee Bitler made a motion to approve payment of $1031.58 to RiverStone Group for riprap at the Rock River St ditch, to come from the General/Streets budget, seconded by Trustee Wells

The Green Committee is planning on having a Farmer’s Market this year. Discussion is underway as to site and timing.

They are also planning on a Village-wide cleanup on Earth Day, April 22nd .

Gallery – Questions, Comments

J Ingalls asked about the “Third Thursday” events. Wes Wells said we anticipated food and drink specials, business specials, live music and so forth, in the evenings of the 3rd Thursday of the month, beginning in May.

All Ayes, No Nays - Mayor Peterson declared the meeting adjourned at 6:37PM
