Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals met May 3. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Board Members Present: Chairman Fuhr, Mr. Van Daele, Mr. Coyne, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Boyd.

Staff Present: Gregory Thorpe, Doug Moslehi

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

A motion was made to approve the February 7, 2018 minutes. The motion was made by Mr. Brown, and

seconded by Mr. Coyne. A voice vote was taken, motion carried.

CASE: SU-18-203 SPECIAL USE PERMIT

SCOTT HESS & LEANN LYDEN

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of SCOTT HESS & LEANN LINDEN to consider a Special Use Permit for a Seasonal Recreational Use in an R-1 Single Family Recreational District. There were no objectors present. Mr. Van Daele recused himself from this case. There were no objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request by Mr. Brown and seconded by Mr. Boyd. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Mr. Boyd - Yes; Mr. Brown – Yes; and Mr. Coyne - Yes. Motion carried.

CASE: SU-18-205 SPECIAL USE PERMIT

HARRY SCARF JR.

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of HARRY SCARF JR. in order to consider a Special Use Permit for a Seasonal Recreational Use in an R-1 Single Family Recreational District. There were no objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request, by Mr.VanDaele and seconded by Mr. Brown. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Mr. Boyd - Yes; Mr. Brown – Yes; Mr. Coyne - Yes and Mr. Van Daele – Yes. Motion carried.

CASE: SU-18-204 SPECIAL USE PERMIT

CHRIS NORDURFT

The Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals held a hearing at the request of CHRIS NORDURFT to consider a Special Use Permit to operate a Motocross track in a B-3, Community Business District. There were objectors present. A motion was made to approve the request with conditions, by Mr. Brown and seconded by Mr. Coyne. The vote to approve the request was as follows: Chairman Fuhr – Yes; Mr. Boyd - Yes; Mr. Brown – Yes; Mr. Coyne - Yes and Mr. Van Daele – No. Motion carried.

The following Finding of Facts from May 2nd, 2018 was approved with a motion by Mr. VanDaele and second by Mr. Brown. A voice vote was taken, motion carried.

     2. RZ-18-102 NOG, L.L.C. AG-1 to SE-1 CO

     3. RZ-18-103 James & Wanda Kerner Trust AG-2 to SE-1 CO

The motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Brown and second by Mr. Coyne. A voice vote was taken, motion

carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:11 p.m.
