City of New Boston Council met May 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The City of New Boston met in regular session May 9,2018. Mayor DeFrieze opened the meeting at 7:00pm. Alderman present were Stineman, Schreurs, Marston, Ramer, and Fourdyce. Alderman absent was Long. Treasurer Tonya LeHew and Campground host Natalie attended the meeting as well. Minutes were taken by Lacey Schreurs.

No one was present for Public Forum.

Marston made the motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Ramer, all aye votes, motion carried.

Fourdyce made the motion to approve the bill, seconded by Stineman. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Marston made the motion to approve the bills from the OSLAD Grant, seconded by Fourdyce. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Marston made the motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Stineman. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Ramer is wanting to purchase the land around his property. Mayor told him he would need to get the plat from the courthouse and check with the Lawyer to make sure it is done correctly.

Mayor asked the Council if they should add Doug and Natalie to the Menards charge account, Council agreed they should be added.

Mayor told the Council that Cargill is asking the city to forgive the December late fees of $4021.38 and add the amount as a credit to their account. Fourdyce made the motion to forgive the December late fees, seconded by Ramer. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Mayor told the Council to start thinking about dates for this years Fish Fry and also nominees for Citizen of the year award.

Mayor informed the Council that Valley Construction would fix the bathrooms but was wanting to be paid for time and equipment fees. He told the Council that the attorney was working on the issues.

Mayor told the Council that Mike was working on getting quotes for a new lawn mower.

The Council agreed that the campers unable to use their camping spot due to the power and water not hooked up in their areas would only be charged the $50 winter storage rate until they were able to hook up to the power and water.

Natalie told the Council about the issues she was having at the Campground and asked for guidance on how to address the issues.

Fourdyce made the motion to help pay half ($4500) of the cost for new lights at the Ball Diamond, seconded by Marston. Roll call votes as follows: Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Ramer made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Marston, all aye votes, motion carried.
