Colona Fire Department responded to 61 calls in 2017 - 19.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Colona included 55 fires - nine structure fires, 10 vehicle fires and 36 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $61,250 in fire loss - or about $1,114 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Colona Fire Department had an annual budget of $333,711 in 2017.
