Kewanee Central Fire Protection District responded to 23 calls in 2017 - 42.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kewanee included 18 fires - three structure fires, two vehicle fires and 13 other fires.

In all, the department saw $2 in fire loss.

The department also received five false calls.

The Kewanee Central Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $270,756 in 2017.
