Groundbreaking

Quad Cities Chamberrecently issued the following announcement.

Construction has begun on the Student Life Center at United Township High School. An official ground breaking ceremony will take place on Monday, June 25th at 4 p.m.

According to Brian Wegerer, Project Manager at Bush Construction, “Construction is off to a great start. We are proud of to be a part of UT’s renovation. This is a really exciting project.” United Township’s Superintendent, Dr. Jay Morrow, will be speaking at Monday’s ground breaking event. The $9.5 million project is only the second major project since the building was constructed in 1960 on Avenue of the Cities in East Moline.

Plans call for a secure new entrance, a realignment of offices for “one-stop shopping” for parents who visit the school, a commons area for students that adjoins the cafeteria, and a new library/media center.
