South Moline Township Board of Trustee met May 21. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Present — Tracy Best, Supervisor; Andrea Anderson, Trustee; Lisa Griffin, Trustee; Mark Lundahl, Trustee; Brian Forsberg, Trustee; Bob Schultz, Road Commissioner; and Rob Vyncke,


Clerk. Absent: Rick Mellinger, Assessor.

Meeting Called to Order — Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor Best.

Pledge of Allegiance

Approval of Minutes — Motion by Forsberg, second by Lundahl, that we approve the minutes of May 01, 2018. Motion carried, with all voting in favor.

Officials' Reports —

     a. Road Commissioner — Lots going on. Equipment was recently serviced by Martin Equipment. They found a transmission leak on a backhoe. The bid for culvert replacement will be awarded to Phoenix Corp., as they were the low bidder at $15,727.50. We are also doing some shoulder work, which looks very good.

     b. Assessor — None

     c. Clerk — Vyncke advised the board of an upcoming education seminar to be held in Rockford in July and in Naperville in August. Anyone who wants to attend, please see Best.

     d. Trustees — None

     e. Cemetery — They had a meeting last Thursday and went to the cemetery. They plan on getting a professional opinion on tree maintenance and possibly replacing some trees.

     f. Seniors — All is going well.

     g. Youth — None

Supervisor's Report —

     We received a request from Youth Hope for a donation. Best stated that it costs $200.00 per person to attend the camp. Last year we donated $400.00 to send two needy children. There was a motion by Anderson to donate $400.00. Second by Griffin. All ayes, motion carried.

          1. TOWNSHIP ADMINISTRATION — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Griffin. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

          2. ASSESSOR — Motion by Griffin for approval; second by Anderson. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

          3. TOWNSHIP SENIOR CENTER — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Forsberg. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     b. TOWN FUND — FICA — Motion by Forsberg for approval; second by Lundahl. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     c. TOWN FUND — IMRF — Motion by Lundahl for approval; second by Griffin. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     d. GENERAL ASSISTANCE — Motion by Griffin for approval; second by Anderson. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     e. ROAD & BRIDGE / GENERAL FUND — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Forsberg. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     f. ROAD & BRIDGE / IMRF FUND — Motion by Forsberg for approval; second by Lundahl. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     g. ROAD & BRIDGE / FICA FUND — Motion by Lundahl for approval; second by Griffin. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     h. ROAD & BRIDGE / EQUIPMENT & BLDG — Motion by Griffin for approval; second by Anderson. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     i. ROAD & BRIDGE / INSURANCE FUND — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Forsberg. Ayes: Anderson, Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

     j. CEMETERY — Motion by Forsberg for approval; second by Lundahl. Ayes: Anderson Griffin, Lundahl, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

Comments — None

Adjournment — Motion by Griffin, second by Anderson, that we adjourn the meeting. Motion carried, with all voting in favor. Meeting adjourned @ 6:13 p.m.
