Western Illinois University Athletics will host its largest fundraiser of the year this Saturday (Aug. 11) in Western Hall, with the 29th Annual Purple & Gold Auction. The event will feature a social, silent auction, two cash raffles, dinner, a program, including two outstanding student-athlete speakers Payton Abbott (Softball) and Samir Almhiemid (Swimming & Diving) and a live auction.
Numerous one-of-a-kind and stellar auction items will be up for grabs, including two one-week stays in Steamboat Springs, CO; a Minnesota Vikings' helmet signed by Leatherneck great (and Macomb native) Brett Taylor; a framed and autographed Mitch Trubisky Bears' jersey; a VIP trip with WIU Football to the University of Illinois; golf for four at TPC Deere Run; a VIP trip with WIU Women's Basketball to Las Vegas; tickets for professional baseball and football games, and much more.
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a social and silent auction, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Lowderman Auction Company will begin the live auction at 8 p.m.
