Gastrointestinal Clinic of Quad Cities recently issued the following announcement.

The Heart to Heart - Community Education Series offered by UnityPoint Health – Trinity continues to attract dozens of attendees to each event. The series provides information on things like heart disease prevention and treatment. Attendees also gain important knowledge on ways to live more heart healthy.

UnityPoint Health – Trinity’s cardiology program is dedicated to improving the health of people in the Quad Cities area. The community education series is one way of doing that.

“Along with providing life-saving services, we are consistently working in the community to help people improve their day-to-day lives,” says Kathy Pulley, Director of Cardiology Services at UnityPoint Health – Trinity.

Dozens of attendees filed into Trinity Rock Island’s Jardine Auditorium for the latest session on Tuesday, May 14, eager to learn about heart health. Dr. Alyas Chaudhry of Cardiac Surgery Associates, S.C. presented to the crowd. One of the takeaways from his discussion was the importance of physical activity.

“Being active is beneficial for your blood pressure and overall health of your blood vessels,” says Dr. Chaudhry. “Overall, physical activity can help increase your life span, regardless of any adverse inherited factors.”

This event was presented free of charge thanks to the generosity of Friends of Trinity.

Additional Heart to Heart sessions are being planned. The next event will be on August 6, 2019 at the St. Ambrose University Rogalski Center in Davenport.
