The City Council of the City of Geneseo met in a City Council meeting on Tuesday May 28, 2019 at the Council Chambers, 115 South Oakwood Avenue. Mayor Kathy Carroll-Duda called the meeting to order at 9:14 pm.
Aldermen Brett Barnhart, Bob Wachtel, Sean Johnson, Martin Rothschild, Paula Simosky, Craig Arnold, Doug Crow, and Bob James were present.
Others in attendance included, Interim City Administrator Dawn Tubbs, City Clerk Loree K. Phlypo, City Attorney Derke Price, Director of Electrical Operations Lewis Opsal, Public Works Director Chad VanDeWoestyne, Finance Director Jamie Matthews, Chief Casey Disterhoft and Deputy Chief Genes Karzin.

Executive Session
Pursuant to personnel matter pursuant to: 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity.
Pursuant to the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body: 5ILCS 120/2 (c)(5) The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired.
Pursuant to Property matter pursuant to: 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(6) The setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body.
Motion by Arnold, second by Rothschild to enter into executive session under the above Stated Exceptions at 9:15 PM.

Consideration to hire a consulting firm and/or increase compensation range for the City Administrator Position
No Discussion.
Motion by Wachtel, second by Arnold to approve hiring a consulting firm and/or increasing the compensation range for the City Administrator Position consistent with the instructions given in Executive Session with the consulting firm being identified as GOV HR.
