Village of Cordova Committee met June 13.

Call to Order: Mayor James Boone called the Committee Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call: Pat Fidlar, Barbara Myers, Shannon Craigmiles and Julie Hager. Also, present James Boone, Brittany Calvert, Bob VanHooreweghe, Bill Murfree and Deputy Mendoza. Absent: Della Scott and Harvey Sothmann.
Bill Murfree/Suez: Bill Murfree came to show the Board a presentation on a mixer for the water tower. The mixer would be used to mix the water so there is no stagnant water left at the top. This will also help the Village with the water tower freezing. Power will have to be run as the mixer is electric. Suez will run power down to the leg of the water tower and the Board will have to get the power hooked up. Barbara reported this is TIF eligible.
Public Comment: Mayor James Boone called for public comment.
Water: Barbara reported she had been looking at purchasing a belt clip that would be compatible with smart phones or tablets. Also, she had been looking at the high service pump that needs to be replaced. She believes she can find one for under $100.00. Barbara also reported she would like to look into getting an exhaust fan for the chlorine room at the water tower plant.
Sewer: Barbara informed the Board she has been in contact with Zero Gravity Filters about getting micron filters for the Nano 2 system. The company also told her she can test the micron filters out. If they don’t work, she can send them back for a full refund. Barbara would also like to look into someone coming out and going over the Nano 2 thoroughly.
Village Hall Sign: Jim reported that last year Tri- City had come out and given a bid to run power to the village hall sign and the flag poles. He asked Brittany to look up in the minutes and see if money was approved.
Streets & Alleys: Jim reported Della would like to get an engineering company to come out and do a traffic survey so the Village speed limit could be lowered. Della would also like to do some work to the 4th Ave sidewalk. She is also talking with Bonnell Industries about getting lights put on the new truck.
Old Business: Julie reported Cordova Day is going great. The flyers where being sent out in the mail next week. She also asked about the golf cart ordinance. Jim reported he will be looking into a crane date for the lagoon walkway and the docks.
New Business: Pat reported prevailing wage needs to be passed by the end of the month. Pat also, made a suggestion about getting together to make a TIF budget since the funds would be running out soon. Barbara informed the Board she was looking into purchasing a new copy machine for the water plant she has seen some for under $100.
