1. Discussion on selling the lot on Washington Street where the old High School sat.
Allen has talked to the cities lawyer. The lawyer suggested putting a stipulation to build a residence within one year of purchase. All council members agreed that it would be a good idea to sell property. A new residence being built will bring in more tax revenue for the city.
Donnie made a motion to advertise the property for sealed bids with a minimum bid of $2,500 per lot and construction must begin within one year. The City will have the right to refuse any and all bids. Jan seconded. Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
2. Jeremy Malcom asked the City to pay $5,000 for a 1991 Firetruck. The department will pay $10,000 and wants the city to pay the remaining $5,000 by the end of next year. Jeremy stated the newer truck would help with the ISO rating for the department. Donnie made a motion to not purchase truck at this time due to funds, Don seconded. Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
3. Adjourn the meeting: Donnie made motion to adjourn, Bill seconded. Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
