City of Keithsburg City Council met Sept. 25.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
Alderman Physically Present: Bill Pinger, Donnie Cox, Jan Occhi, Ronnie Brock, Don Truitt, and Tom Litwiler.
Also present: Kelly Parker, City Clerk.
Absent: Allen Henshaw, Mayor and Cindy Diehl, Treasurer.
1. Streets and Sidewalks:
• Ronnie Brock led the discussion on a 2016 Ford F-350. The truck has a dump bed and 30,000 miles. Asking price is 39,945. The city would borrow money from the Revolving Loan Fund to purchase truck. Money would be paid back to fund from General fund, Water/Sewer, and Campground. Donnie Cox made a motion not to by the truck at this time due to funds, Don Truitt seconded. Motion tied with vote of 3 “Yes” votes and 3 “No” votes. Ronnie Brock made a motion to buy the truck, Jan Occhi seconded. Motion carried with a 4 “Yes” votes and 2 “No” votes
• Discuss to purchase snowplow and salt spreader for the new city truck. Ronnie has an estimate of $5500 for a 81/2 foot straight blade and $3000 for a spreader. Jan Occhi made a motion to table at this time, Don Truitt seconded. Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
• Appoint Larry Robertson as a full-time employee for streets and sidewalks with a pay increase to $15.00 an hour. Donnie Cox made a motion to appoint, Ronnie Brock seconded. Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
2. Adjourn meeting: Don Truitt made a motion to adjourn, Tom Litwiler seconded. Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
