The Republican Women of Rock Island County (RWRIC) are scheduled to host their first monthly meeting of 2020 on Jan. 9 in Rock Island.
The two-hour event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at Riverfront Grille, 4619 34th Street. Admission is $15, which includes a two-entrée buffet
“This is going to be an exciting election year, and we want to keep you in the know about our local candidates and other important county information,” the group posted on its website.

On its Facebook page, RWRIC promotes itself as “a group of women who support the conservative values and principles of the Republican Party and works to help voters understand the current political issues and make informed decisions at the voting booth.”
The group meets on the first Thursday of every month and works to “search out, promote and support conservative candidates.”
