Geneseo Public Library District Board met Jan. 13.

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, January 13, 2020. President Ray Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Trustees in attendance were Lee Fluck, Carol Luciani, Paul Pardo, Kim Reynolds and Karen Turner.
Citizen’s Input Mary Jayne Nash stated that she had been employed with the library for over 23 years and that she was very happy with how it is being run.
Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. A “thank you photo” was sent from Boy Scout Troop 131 for donating a basket of items for their auction.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid Paul made a motion to pay the bills, Kim seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously by roll call vote. Paul moved to approve the financial report; Karen seconded it, and it was passed unanimously by roll call vote.
Library Director’s Report Please refer to Claire’s written report. A letter from Attorney Phil Lenzini, our library attorney, stated that their fees have gone up.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Evaluations Ray discussed the responses from the Employee Evaluations: everyone appears to have their own unique specialty and they work well as a team. It was noted that Mary Thompson will be turning 80 and has been at the library for 22 years.
At 6:50 pm Lee moved to go into Executive Session. Paul seconded the motion and all agreed. At 7:28 pm Paul moved to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Karen and agreed by all.
NEW BUSINESS
Blood Drive The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center sent a thank you card expressing their gratitude for allowing them to hold a blood drive at the library; they had 27 donations.
Pay Raise The employees were given raises before Christmas, but Claire was not. Carol made a motion that Claire be given a 4% increase in salary, effective January 1, 2020. Kim seconded the motion and by roll call vote, all members present voted “yes.”
Adjournment With no further matters before the board, at 7:40 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
