Geneseo Public Library District Board met Feb. 10.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library. Vice-President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Trustees in attendance were Lee Fluck, Carol Luciani and Paul Pardo.
Citizen’s Input
A library patron spoke to the board about his experience during the recent blood center drive.
Secretary’s Report
The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. A thank you card from the staff and Claire was read, thanking the Board for the raises received. Another card was from employee Mary Thompson, also thanking the Board for the Bonus. She stated she has enjoyed working at the library for the last 20 years.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid
Paul made a motion to pay the bills, Carol seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously by roll call vote. Paul moved to approve the financial report; Carol seconded it, and it was passed unanimously by roll call vote.
The Board went into Executive Session at 6:50 pm. At 7:10 pm, the Board came out of Executive Session. No action was taken while in Executive Session.
Library Director’s Report
Claire stated that Secretary of State Jesse White will be here in May. The new website meets the Americans with Disabilities Act, has larger fonts and patrons are very happy with it.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Digital Sign
One bid for an outdoor digital sign was reviewed. Another may come in. NEW BUSINESS
Grants
Some grants Claire can not apply for because we don't have a "need" situation. Some grants require 50% of your students to be on the free and reduced lunch program. Our number is 23%.
LED Lights
Another section of LED lights will be installed soon.
Adjournment With no further matters before the board, at 7:49 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
