The City of Moline does require a class be taken before receiving a license. This is a great opportunity to do so.
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges has scheduled a Chickens in Your Backyard session for June 15, 6 – 9 p.m., at the college’s West Davenport Center, 2950 Fairmount St. The course covers everything you need to know about raising chickens including selection, ordering, chicken coops and city regulations. Students will be handling both chicks and mature hens so dress appropriately. Cost for the class is $49. For more information or to register contact the college at (toll free) 1-888-336-3907.
