Analysis: Rock Island pays $5.78 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Rock Island Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.8 percent of the $3,993,215 the Rock Island Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.78 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Rock Island contributed $3,384,517 to the fund, which saw a $189,764 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $585,519, or 14.7 percent, in 2018. Another $23,179 came from other unspecified sources.
