City of Rock Island Beautification Commission met July 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

Call to Order and Roll Call

Chair Bob Towler called the meeting to order at 5:10 PM and read the roll call. 

Public Comment

There were no members of the public in attendance.

Approval of the Agenda

Sue McDevitt moved to approve the agenda for July 13, 2020. Lloyd Davis, Sr. seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0.

Approval of the Previous Meeting Minutes

Lloyd Davis, Sr. moved to approve the minutes for June 8, 2019. Wanda Lambert seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0.

Old Business

Bob Towler reminded the commission members that acceptance of the 2020 Tell On Your Neighbor nominations will continue until August 7th

New Business

The commission reviewed a photo slideshow of nominees for the June Yard of the Month award. Roy Plasschaert moved to vote 1201 18th Avenue the winner and Lloyd Davis, Sr. seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0.

Wanda Lambert motioned that the other June Yard of the Month properties be added as Tell On Your Neighbor nominees. Lloyd Davis, Sr. seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0.

Other Business

Bob Towler asked the commission member s to start looking for Commercial Beautification nominees during these summer months while the growing season was good.

Adjournment

Chair Bob Towler asked for a motion to adjourn. Roy Plasschaert moved to adjourn. Wanda Lambert seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously on a vote of 5 to 0 at 5:30 PM.
