Village Of Carbon Cliff Public Works Committee Met September 8

Meeting 11

Village Of Carbon Cliff Public Works Committee met Sept. 8.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

1. Head of Maintenance, Dan Clark and D.O.C.A.S., Nick Gottwalt will be meeting with the Village engineer on Wednesday, September 9 th to discuss 10 hydrants in town. These hydrants do not appear to have shut off valves near them to isolate the hydrant should something malfunction, it starts leaking, or is hit by a car. These hydrants are currently on the repair/replace list for the village and to repair/replace them the village will need to shut the water off to the entire street at each location. The village may also want to consider installing valves at the time the hydrant is replaced. As this is a bigger project than we had originally planned for, we may want to scale back the number of hydrants we are replacing this year. (This is also on the Public Properties Committee as it concerns both water and potential street removal)

2. Under the direction of the Village Board at the September 1, 2020 Board Meeting, D.O.C.A.S. Nick Gottwalt talked to Village Attorney, Kathleen Field Orr regarding a retirement/severance package for Village Clerk, Karen L. Hopkins. Village President, Bill Hintz, and Administration Chairman, Leevon Harris will present committees with proposal as suggested/approved by Village Attorney

3. Discuss Proposal from Liane Devore Consulting.
