Silvis Fire District responded to 95 calls in 2018 - 23.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Silvis included 42 fires - 24 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 11 other fires.

In all, the department saw $244,560 in fire loss - or about $5,823 per fire.

The department also received 53 false calls, including three malicious calls and 50 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.
