City of Keithsburg Council met April 11.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Reason opened the Meeting at 6:30pm
Pledge of Allegiance
Alderman Present: Donnie Cox, Melonie McLaughlin, Chad Weeks, Ronnie Brock, Don Truitt Others Present: Lucinda Diehl, Treasurer; Kayla Hillman, Clerk; Eric Long, Attorney;
Sharon Reason appointed Shaun Tippie for 1st Ward Alderman, by the Municipal Handbook Reason is to appoint within 60 days. Donnie motioned to approve; Chad seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes. Clerk and Shaun Tippie proceeded with Official Oath to be 1st Ward Alderman.
1. Cash Receipt: Melonie made a motion to approve; Donnie seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
2. Cash Disbursement: Ronnie made a motion to approve; Don seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
3. Minutes from last month’s Meeting: Donnie made a motion to approve; Ron seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
4. Water and Sewer:
• Total gallons pumped 1,209,000 gallons, with an average of 39,000 gallons.
5. Streets and Sidewalks: Nothing to report.
6. Fire Department:
• Jeremy spoke about an issue they are having with the ambulance that is down with an antifreeze leak.
7. Police: Monthly Report
8. Campground: Thomas Lenover presented to the council letters of recommendation and a letter from Clark and Glasgow attorneys-at-law in hopes that the council would approve him to be able to come back to Keithsburg Campground. Melonie made a motion to uphold the ban, Chad seconded; Motion carried with 4 “Yes” votes, and 2 “No” votes.
9. Zoning: Nothing to Report
10. Resolutions and Ordinances: Nothing to Report
11. Other:
• Kim Harrison spoke about Mercer County Family Crisis Center and asked the City of Keithsburg to donate. Donnie motioned to donate $1,000.00 to Blue Kids, Ron seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
• Chuck Reynolds asked for a donation for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Donnie motioned to donate $200.00, Ron seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.
• MFT work will be done by Henderson County, Warren County was originally going to do the work for the city but due to scheduling they would not be able to provide that for Keithsburg. Scott Roth is still going to provide spray patch services.
